TL;DR
CRI delivered a capacity-building program for 29 Kenyan officials and private experts on Public Private Partnerships (PPP) in the Energy Sector. The training focused on financial, economic, risk, and regulatory aspects to improve energy policies, regulations, and promote sector reforms in Kenya.

CRI developed and delivered a capacity building training program for twenty-nine Kenyan government officials and private sector experts from the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum, the National Treasury, the Ministry of Devolution and Planning, the Privatization Commission, the Energy Regulatory Commission, the Kenya Transmission Company (KeTraCo), the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC), and the Kenya Generating Company (KenGen). The training was tailored such that the participants would gain a deeper understanding of the financial, economic, stakeholder, risk and regulatory implications of PPP projects in the Energy Sector. The theoretical and practical components of the program were designed in the context of the prevailing challenges in providing reliable access to electricity in Kenya in an economically and environmentally sustainable manner. Furthermore, the program's aim was to foster better energy policies and regulations and promote reforms within the energy sector.
