Program on Investment Appraisal and Risk Analysis - Government Technical Advisory Centre, South Africa
The Program on Investment Appraisal and Risk Analysis (PIAR) is a world-class capacity building training program, specially designed to empower public sector officials with the essential knowledge and skills required to appraise and manage Public Investment Projects (PIPs).
The PIAR was delivered in Pretoria, South Africa, to several key public officials from the Government of the Republic of South Africa during the first quarter of 2020. The program’s theoretical and practical components were specially designed to build and strengthen the capacity of the public officials of various line ministries, departments and agencies to appraise and assess infrastructure projects aimed at delivering public services. The PIAR was conducted over two sessions, with the length of each session being two weeks.
The first session which focused on the Financial and Risk Analysis of PIPs was held between the 13th and 24th of January 2020. While the second session was conducted between the 9th and 20th of March 2020 and focused on the Economic and Stakeholder Analysis of PIPs.
